BMSS WINS READERS CUP

7/06/2017
Readers Cup is a state wide competition for young readers. Teams of four students, together read a set of books, and then compete against other schools to answer quiz questions from the book.
The Readers Cup competition challenges students to read widely, work collaboratively in a team and continue to develop a love of reading.

The BMSS team this year was Isaac M (6W), Olivia W (6D), Olivia B (6J) and Grace H (6E)

These students competed against 27 other teams and WON the competition, and will now compete in the State Titles held in Brisbane later in the year. They also set the record for the highest score in the heats, receiving 57/60. They worked extremely hard, in their own time, reading the books and meeting at lunchtime to delve deeper into the 5 novels and 1 picture book required for the competition.

The competition was held at Immanuel Lutheran College on Tuesday 16th May. We were very privileged to have guest author Richard Newsome speak about his book, Billionaires Curse. Well done team.
