The Buderim Mountain State School library is a modern facility that includes multiple teaching and learning areas. Literacy is a high priority in the school and the library is staffed by a teacher librarian and support staff. The library is host to many important events on the school calendar.


In 2010 the new Library was opened. It was built using Building Education Revolution (BER) Federal Government funds. There are over 17000 resources available for students to borrow. Each year, there are approximately 30000 loans to students and 25000 to staff.


Hours of opening:


Monday - Friday  8.30am – 3.15pm

Borrowing limits:


Prep and Year 2 - 2 books

Years 3 to Year 6 -  3 books (includes 1 magazine)

Books can be borrowed for a maximum of 2 weeks.


Class borrowing:

All classes have a set borrowing time in class time so that students can borrow books on a regular basis. Students are also allowed to change their books before school, during lunch and after school. Students with overdue books will be prevented from borrowing until the book is either returned or paid for.

Lunchtime use:

All students from year 1 - 6 are able to visit the Library at Lunchtime from 1.15 – 1.45pm. During this time they can be involved in activities like reading, chess, drawing and a variety games.  

Library helpers:


Students in Years 5 and 6 are eligible to be Library Helpers and perform their duties before school or at lunchtime.


Upcoming Events:


2017 Book Fair - Bookaneer - Where Books are the Treasure

This is an opportunity for students and parents to purchase books, posters and other variety items supplied by Scholastic. The library will be open before school and after school throughout Book fair for parents and students to visit, view and purchase items.
2017 Premier's Reading Challenge
All students can participate in the challenge to read at least 15 books (Yrs 5-6) or 20 books (Prep- Yr 4) and keep record of the books during this time. They will then receive a certificate from the Premier.
2017 Book Week - August 21st
The theme this year is "Escape to Everywhere". The library will have the full selection of books nominated for awards by Children's Book Council of Australia available for borrowing. Student’s art work will be on display during this week and we would like to invite all parents to visit the library and enjoy your child’s work.
